Is it July already?

I've been awake since 4.30. That is a thing that sucks. This is the second morning in a row I've woken up at some godawful hour. Yesterday was even earlier, but I was able to go back to sleep. Today, not so much. And coffee does nothing for me except stimulate my fight or flight response, so too much would only result in still being sleepy, but with my heart jack-hammering in my chest. Sigh...

Our kitchen is finished! Or, well, almost finished. We're still waiting for the splash guard behind the stove, and we need to put up lamps and wall decorations, and move into the tall cabinets in the living room, but, yeah, we're pretty much finished, and moved in, and it is glorious! Now all that's left is getting the rest of the house back in order...

We've decided to splurge on some clever (read: expensive) window dressing solutions, and consequently spend less on our summer holiday. Which means we'll be staying at home, enjoying our new curtains and blinds, and making day trips, probably. Personally, I think it's worth it, just to have some proper fucking privacy in my bedroom. I am so over our current mess of a curtain situation. Now we're getting blinds that can open from the top as well as the bottom, which means that we can still let some light in, but we won't be on full display if we do. Which we have been, so far, much to my immense dismay.

Workwise, I recently sicced our debt collector's agency on what turns out to be a recently transitioned trans person. I almost feel bad. I mean, you should pay your bills no matter what's going on in your life, but I've spent so much time on Tumblr being all immersed in "protect trans lives at all cost!" and now I potentially have a hand in labeling this person with a brand new identity as a someone with bad credit. Not a great start to a new life. I mean, technically, they're doing it to themselves by not paying the bill, but, like... Anyway, pay your damn bills, people. It's not fair that I should be made to feel bad. I have had nothing to do with any decision making other than concluding that the bill was not getting paid and handing the debt over to people more qualified to collect for me. And also, when I tried calling them, they hung up on me! I don't have much of a choice if you won't even talk to me.

Right, well, if anyone needs me, I'll be right here, plowing through the mountain of paperwork that I have less than two weeks to get through, and then... vacay! Yay!
